Biliary atresia
Typically presents after 2 weeks of age with progressive jaundice and acholic stools. Causes a direct hyperbilirubinemia.
<span>Intrinsic liver disease
Very rare cause of neonatal jaundice
Birth trauma (cephalohematoma or other bruising)
Reabsorption of blood and metabolism of red blood cells can cause jaundice.
