Most commercial FE codes already include an algorithm to compute the static equilibrium path of a structure, and in order to test this idea the authors implemented a static equilibrium continuation routine for ROMs and then evaluated the proposed model validation methodology by applying it to several structures. The results shown subsequently suggest that ROMs that accurately predict the equilibrium path of the full FE model provide accurate random response predictions when the structure is undergoing dynamic snap-through, validating the use of the SEP as a metric to gauge the accuracy of a ROM
